Supervises: Early Childhood Services Staff
Must possess a Master’s degree in Education or Special Education AND completion of the New York State Education Department School Building Leader or School Administrator certification.
JOB SUMMARY
The School Building Leader is responsible for supervising daily department operations, ensuring compliance with the NYS Education Department (SED), and NYS Department of Health (DOH) regulations and operating standards. The Director will complete all records and reports related to program efficacy, progress and new development as well as compliance.
The School Building Leader with work with the Childcare Director to ensure compliance with NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and operating standards. They will coordinate with internal Agency programs and departments, external state and federal regulatory bodies and external agency programs and providers and will ensure department fiscal responsibility.
The School Building Leader will oversee the professional development of staff and communicate in a manner that energizes the workforce, promotes retention, encourages team excellence, facilitates continuous learning and reinforces positive partnerships throughout the organization and in the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop processes and systems which ensure compliance with the New York
State Education Department, the Office of Children and Family services, and the Department of Health quality regulations; as well as compliance with standards established by other regulatory and grant based funding sources.
Review, analyze, and manage fiscal aspects of programs to ensure programs meet or exceed fiscal goals to sustain level of support and services, i.e., budget monitoring, requisitions, payroll.
Maintain positive relationships with students, families, community organizations, referral sources and governing bodies.
Maintain consistent awareness of the environment external to the Agency that may impact service delivery.
Gather and analyze information and data to make process improvement, achieve performance results against strategic objectives and facilitation of leadership decisions.
Model, promote and support organizational performance values.
Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
Coordinate existing services, initiate innovations, develop new programs and coordinate program expansion in support and achievement of the Agency’s strategic goals and Division work plans.
Oversee and maintain the timely completion of all necessary records and reports to ensure compliance within the program and with state and federal regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with agency program departments and inter-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of quality services.
Coordinate services with state and federal governmental and regulatory entities, community and local agencies and health care providers when applicable to ensure that program needs are met.
Ensure ongoing staff training and professional development needs are met and that staff certifications and/or licenses are current.
Participate in activities as part of the Leadership Team of the agency that may include meetings, trainings, committee work and committee leadership.
Establish a work environment that creates positive relationships and communication between supervisors and employees and assimilate new employees to the Agency culture, values, and mission.
Supervise daily program/department operations, including budget monitoring, interviewing, hiring, scheduling and coverage, on-site orientation, staff meetings, and staff and program performance evaluations for the 4410 preschool program and the day care program.
Coordinate existing services, initiate innovations, develop new programs and coordinate program expansion in support and achievement of the Agency’s strategic goals and Division work plans.
Oversee and maintain the timely completion of all necessary records and reports to ensure compliance within the program and with state and federal regulatory requirements.

Coordinate services with state and federal governmental and regulatory entities, community and local agencies and health care providers when applicable to ensure that program needs are met.
Ensure that the program/department operates in a fiscally responsible manner.

Participate in activities as part of the Education Division and Preschool
Program administrative team that may include meetings, trainings, committee work and committee leadership.
Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
Establish a work environment that creates positive relationships between supervisors and employees and assimilate new employees to the Agency culture, values and mission.
Certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require work during evenings, weekends or holidays.

Performs other duties as delegated by the Executive Director/CEO.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must possess a Master’s degree in Education or Special Education AND completion of the New York State Education Department School Building Leader or School Administrator certification.
Experience in an educational setting or preschool setting preferred.
Substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OCFS (Office of Children and Family Services).
This position requires clearance from the Criminal History Check of Office of
People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), Exclusion Lists and the New York State Child Abuse Registry.
Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Intermediate Computer Skills (Including Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word and Excel, Internet Explorer, Access, PowerPoint).
Must have strong problem-solving skills and utilize root cause analysis.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to objectively coach employees and management with educational related issues

Salary: $60,000.00 - $72,500.00 per year
