THANK YOU to our 7th Annual Walk for Autism Awareness Walkers and Sponsors

One in 68 children between the ages of 6 to 17 has an autism spectrum disorder according to the recent Centers for Disease Control study.   This diagnosis can be a source of great agony for families.  Our teams at the Gavras Center are able to offer hope and concrete strategies to help individuals live their best lives.  As early as preschool and through adulthood, Gavras Teams work on improving social abilities, inter personal and communication skills, increased independence and strengthening the abilities in each person.

The walk’s mission is to promote understanding and knowledge of autism and to raise necessary funds for autism related services. The E. John Gavras Center is a key provider of services for autism in Cayuga County and all funds raised by the walk will stay in Cayuga County.

Your support is crucial as we take steps together to raise awareness and acceptance of people with differing abilities.  We feel this event creates a very important opportunity to show support for our community families, friends and coworkers with a local walk.

Thank you to all who dedicated your time to participate in and be a part of this amazing event!
