What's Going On at Gavras?   School Nurses Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 9th! The kids in the Gavras preschool classes made certain that Missy Bender, their preschool nurse knew just how much they care about her.  The kids made a special sign and shared a gift with Missy to say thank you for always being there with a bandage or kind word to help them feel better. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 Teacher Appreciation Day! Tuesday, May 8, 2012 marked Teacher appreciation Day across the country and the E. John Gavras Center was celebrating too.  It was a wonderful opportunity to show our thanks to the preschool teachers in our program.  Each day they care, encourage, and support the children in their classrooms.  The Gavras teachers work tirelessly to bring about a bright future for the kids in their care.  Thank you! Rebecca Caldwell, Robin Streever, and Maribeth Delany I would like to thank the many individuals at the E. John Gavras Center who donated to support me in my efforts to raise money for the St. Baldricks Foundation.  With your help I raised $3,000 and Team Ariel together raised almost $4,000!  This money will help aid in research to end childhood cancer.  I am also now hair free!  It’s a very different feeling in case you were wondering!  Thank you so much for your generosity!  Thank you from~ Jessie Butts Magician Joseph Dorn the friendly magician came for a visit and the Gavras preschool children were roaring with laughter as they tried to help him find his tricky rabbit.  One silly trick after another and the entire crowd young and old alike were enjoying the fun.
