5th Annual Walk for Autism Awareness on April 29, 2017

On Saturday April 29, 2017 the E. John Gavras Center held it’s 5th Annual Walk for Autism Awareness.  The day kicked off with registration at Herman Avenue School at 10:15 AM.  With the help of many volunteers, including Auburn High School softball and football teams, Kohls Cares employees, Early Childhood at Cayuga Community College, Auburn Police Department, Sennett Fire Department, Gavras staff and many friends of the Center.

The walk began at 11:00 AM with Principal Kenn Ward of the Gavras Center thanking all who attended and sent the group on their way to Hoopes Park.  This year was a little cooler than last, but still a wonderful turnout and community representation.  Thanks also to Jim Schreck from WNYR, Fingerlakes Radio Group with a live broadcast from Herman Avenue School throughout the event.  Also present was Jeff the Magic Man doing wonderful balloon animals and figures.  Thanks to all our sponsors for helping to raise awareness for Autism.
